Important Notice to All QHost Domain Customers
The Qatar Domains Registry (CRA) is introducing updated domain registration and management policies, effective 22 October 2026, alongside the launch of a new registry platform.
Key changes you should know:
Existing domains: Your registered .qa domain will not be automatically cancelled due to the new policies. Renewals will continue, subject to applicable fees and terms.
New eligibility requirements: New .qa registrations will require eligibility verification and supporting documents, such as QID, Commercial Registration (CR), proof of residency or trademark registration.
Domain modifications: Changes to existing domains, including nameserver, DNS and registrant contact updates, may require additional eligibility verification and supporting documents.
Transfers and renewals: New registrar transfer restrictions, mandatory one-year renewals with transfers, and updated domain expiry and recovery procedures will apply.
Scheduled downtime: The registry migration begins on 22 October 2026 at 12:00 AM Qatar Time. Registry transactions and affected QHost domain management services will be unavailable during the migration.
Will your website or email be affected?
Existing websites, emails and DNS services are not expected to be interrupted solely because of the registry migration.
Do you need to take any action?
No immediate action is required if your existing domain is active, renewed and does not require modifications. Please continue renewing domains on time and keep your registration information accurate.
